Learn about our services

  • A Speech and Language Assessment is a comprehensive "study" of a child's abilities in the following areas:

    • Articulation - the production of speech sounds

    • Receptive Language - the understanding of words and sentences and the meaning of language

    • Expressive Language - being able to put thoughts into words and sentences in a way that makes sense and is grammatically accurate

    • Fluency - the rhythm, flow, and smoothness of speech

    • Voice - the quality, pitch, and loudness of one's voice

    • Pragmatic Language - the social language we use in our interactions with others including what we say, how we say it, our non-verbal communication (eye contact, facial expressions, body language, etc.) and how appropriate our interactions are in a given situation

A Speech and Language Assessment is necessary in order to determine whether or not services are recommended, and if so, what type and level of services are recommended.  Although we do conduct Speech and Language assessments here in our clinic, your insurance company may require their own assessment.  Please contact us or your insurance company for more information.
